These sessions are available to anyone over 18 and provide a relaxed, safe and supportive environment to explore ways to stay well. Each session will include information on specific topics, time for discussion relating to the topics covered and more generally an opportunity to meet and speak with others in the community.

Art and Craft Support Group – online

All are welcome.  Bring whatever art or craft you enjoy doing – or just bring yourself.  This is an opportunity to meet regularly online and develop craft skills in a calm and supportive environment.  We meet every Thursday 1:30pm – 3:00pm to chat and be creative together.

Cooking – Shepton Mallet

Come and learn how to cook simple meals in the kitchen at Shepton Mind in Somerset office.  All materials are provided.  Wherever possible we will use ingredients from our vegetable beds there and learn how to maximise nutrition to benefit our mental well being.

Embracing Neurodiversity

Do you feel the way you process things is different to others or are you having trouble connecting or maintaining relationships ?

Have you come across the word neurodivergent and wondered what this may mean in terms of your experience?

Or you may have been diagnosed and want to know more about living with your difference.

Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, brain injury, PTSD and OCD all fit under this umbrella as well as many more.

This group will discuss and explore what neurodiversity means to you in a supportive and safe environment.

Use gentle movements to sooth the nervous system and build body/mind resilience. Including eye movements, body scan, breathing and visualisation.

Getting Online in a Zoom! 

Wednesdays 2.30pm-4pm 

Feeling isolated? Frightened by IT? Why not join our group to learn the basics of communicating with others online and having fun using Zoom! Our aim is to give people the confidence to use IT/Zoom and to be able to access more online groups in the future. This group is a safe space to meet like-minded people, where you can talk about day-to-day life, share your hobbies and interests, and take part in quizzes!  

1-1 support is available (remotely) to help you through the process of joining the online group.

Frome Recovery and Wellbeing Group

Fridays 10-12.15. Central Accessible Venue. Starts Mid September 2022

A friendly and supportive group, where you can learn coping strategies to improve your wellbeing.

 12 week course includes

5 Ways to Wellbeing

Relaxation, Sleep, Goal Setting

Stress and Anxiety, Catastrophising, Confidence, Change

Free tea and coffee and maybe a biscuit!

 

Looking after me

Is a self care focused peer support group.

Run over 8 weeks every Tuesday morning between 10:30am and 12:00pm on zoom. 

A safe, confidential & welcoming space where you can come along to connect with others while developing understanding of self-care along the way.

Women’s Health group: Endometriosis support

1 in 10 women are affected by endometriosis/adenomyosis but unfortunately the average length to get a diagnosis is 7 years. 

This can have a huge impact on wellbeing alongside the pain/illness and challenges faced with living alongside this disease. 

The women’s health group is a safe space you can come along to meet and chat with others with their own experience of Endometriosis/adenomyosis. The group will not medically advise but will offer a space for support, information and to empower you to advocate for yourself and your medical care.

Mind in Somerset may also share anonymised data with other local Mind associations or Mind. You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold on you by writing to us or emailing us. Complaints can be made in writing or by email by contacting us in the usual ways displayed on our web site. All data will be held for ten years from the date a referral is made and then deleted.
